Maple Ridge Caribbean Festival
July 15, 2007
The 2005 5th Annual Caribbean Street Festival was once again a gigantic success. Superb weather brought more than 15,000 people to Maple Ridge’s downtown core and they partied all day long thanks to the music, entertainment, food and ambience that highlighted the Maple Ridge 5th Caribbean Festival.
We were pleased to have drawn people from all over the Lower Mainland and even Washington State to the festival. As an attraction designed to bring the Caribbean Culture to Maple Ridge and generate tourism dollars for our community at the same time, the event was a success beyond our wildest dreams.
This year’s festival takes place on July 15, 2007. There are a number of expenses (entertainment, staging, sound equipment, decorations, insurance, etc.) associated with putting on such an event, and we’re hoping once again to have strong Corporate and Community support, like previous years, to make this type of Community Festival possible.
Maple Ridge Caribbean Festival is a Non-Profit Society. Established and operated completely by hard working Volunteers. We need financial help to continue this wonderful annual and FREE Community event.
We have some exciting sponsorship opportunities for the 2006 Festival, which is expected to draw crowds of a similar size to the streets of Maple Ridge. The total budget for this year is close to $25,000 so there is a lot of fundraising to be done between now and the day of the event itself. We conduct a Lottery style Raffle to raise funds but we still need some strong corporate sponsorship.
To that end, we again offer five sponsorship levels with different levels of recognition, the details of which are attached.
The Maple Ridge Caribbean Festival once again has the potential to be an extremely vibrant and fun-filled day for Ridge Meadows residents and their families, as well as people from many surrounding communities and beyond.
Please consider supporting us in our efforts.
